Big B

Forgot to post pictures post assembly/primer, (SHOCKING I NOW) but here is current W.I.P of Behemoth.  I have to say that while expensive, this Jack is absolutely one of the most crisply detailed miniatures ive ever worked on.  Completely blown away as to the quality of the new sculpt from PP.

Well, thats it for the current progression on Big B. Really looking forward to finishing him though now!

Flash freeze......

So after a super horrible start to my sunday (yesterday), with my loveable ferret Kota passing away, I finally got around to doing some work last night.  After my initial dismay of the quality of material for the new MK3 starter boxes for warmachine, I have to say after painting, they turned out pretty damned nice.  The mold lines are a dissapointment though. I didn't even see them till i had started painting due to the red plastic and not being able to tell what was what till then.  Anyway, without further ado, I present to you, Lord Kozlov, the Viscount of Scarsgard and his Decimator Heavy Warjack.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy....

Machines of War

So, at my local hobby shop, they are starting a journeyman league for Warmahordes.  I have always loved this game and even if I am unable to play in the league itself, I love painting the models. So, I plan on painting alongside the league if nothing else.  So I picked up the newest Khador starter box, which is ridiculously good value. At 40$, you get a rulebook, foldout battlemat, tokens, dice, cards for the units, faction introductory booklet, basic training quickstart book, and the models.  However....... I hate the material the models are cast in. It is some sort of very hard plastic or pvc material and shows imperfections out the wazoo. At least after priming they do hold quite a bit of detail as is shown below.

So, as you can see. The pre primered version looks like ..... well.... ASS. Thankfully it looks pretty nice with an overly complicated priming process that I used.

So, there is what I have in total for my fledgling Khador force.  I had the Butcher model from a few years ago and he will finally get the paintjob such a cool mini deserves!  Stay tuned for more!

Edit:  Just about finished with the warcaster from the starter box. I think he has turned out great! One of my better faces as well if I say so myself. Pics are before and after the all over gloss wash.

Hope you enjoy!

The bones rip...... Boneripper!

So, as expected i've been very bad with remembering to get pictures between steps and the like.  But, I have a few from here and there, big leap from one to the next for the most part though.  This model has been sooo much fun to paint.  I spent around 4 hours on the skin alone and actually had a blast doing so.  Hope you guys like! Let me know what you think!

Sill alot left to go, highlights, drybrushing, weathering, and the entirety of the base, but its looking good I think! Thanks again guys!

Edit:  Some further progress.....Coming along niceley!

Edit 2: Finished! This guy turned out pretty good in my opinion~!!

A Pestilent Wind blows! Plague Priest!

Cheers guys! Hope all is good and well. I got my first game in last night with my Skaven against my buddy Corey Reece and had a ton of fun! In light of that I was motivated to get to painting today (cold weather and all be damned for primering), so here is the first model being painted in my Skaven army. Some things left to do but coming along nicely.

If I have posted this corrrectly, progress should be from top to bottom.  Hope you all enjoy and I will post more when I finish!

Beginning of a journey

After talking with some people over the years and often discussing starting a blog detailing my adventures in miniature wargaming and it's surrounding hobby, I have finally decided to do so.  Recently had what I call a "hobby reset", in which i pared down the great majority of Armies that I owned in order to focus on a single army instead of 4-6. From here on out, I will be attempting to remember to photograph W.I.P's of models as they get painted, and if wanted, assembled as well.  I will be recording color combinations for base colors, highlights, and shades as I progress through this army.  Hopefully this will be found entertaining by others and I can remember to update it regularly. First post with pictures should be in a few days (once the weather warms up for some quality priming) and will most likely be of my newly started Skaven army.  Expect Necromunda, and Blood Bowl as well!  Thanks!

Blackrock'n'Roll

So after getting some fairly large commission work finished the past couple of weeks im finally able to put more time into the 'jawz aga...
