Blackrock'n'Roll

So after getting some fairly large commission work finished the past couple of weeks im finally able to put more time into the 'jawz again. The more I work on this army the more i absolutely enjoy it! Progress is steady, nothing astounding but steady. Got all of the Gruntas and 'ard Boyz stripped rebased, primered, and then the bases lava effect airbrushed up. So everything looks fairly uniform at the moment at least. And then, I decided I wanted to have something unique to my army. Around 2 years ago I had started working on scratchbuilding my own Wondering Idol of Gork. I got the legs and torso basically done and then left playing Ironjawz at the time, but I never threw the progress away. I always knew i would come back to it at some point, and while I don't have any pictures from before i finished the build, I feel you can definately see where this thing started from.

So here we go with some pictures! I hope you enjoy! And as always, feel free to comment with critics and criticisms!
The original "sculpt" didnt have an actual head as so much it was just a hunk of rock with eyes.....
This flail for a hand took sooooooo long to put together lol
The blade hand was 2 thick pieces of plasticard glued together and then had a dremel taken to it to give its shape. The blade actually comes to an edge on the cutting side as well :)
Very basic colors laid on the big guy himself.
The base cost me about 2 bucks to make.... Cardboard, a for sale sign, some cork board, sand, and some cheap plastic beads from a necklace.
Better shot of the blade. Very pleased with how it turned out!

A bit more color work here, when the paint is finished he will get some red/brown moss added in random locations and other fun stuff.
Basic base idea for the entirety of the army. This particular one is for my Gul'Dan Shaman conversion.
And here we have the army all together minus Gordrak, the Idol, and the 2 Shaman.

So been a pretty busy couple of days here lately. At this stage i usually get very unmotivated with an army, but this one just keeps me intrigued and motivated! So let me know what you think guys! Thanks for checking it out!

Lok'tar O'WAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Picked up another Gordrakk, The Fist of Gork to paint! I absolutely love this miniature! My Ironjawz this time around are going to be themed off of the Iron Horde and Blackhand from World of Warcraft. Some of the coolest looking dudes ever!  Images are in no particular order, So here we go, enjoy the show!
Dremeled in the tell tale "vents" that are so profound on the source inspirations artwork.
 One on each axe.

This is after i decided to base the Maw Krusha more on Deathwing from WoW, gotta paint green to paint red!

Base Progression.... I almost decided to stick with a Fel Horde kind of theme and do them all with the green!

The model prior to its more fiery "Deathwing" aesthetic.

A face only a mother could love!
More painting green to paint red mentality.

Inspirational resource. I need to model one of my Mega Boss' on foot like this!

And there you have it. I know i should have sorted the pictures, but seriously... who has time for that! Hope you all enjoyed!

Searching for my inspiration, my best work yet?

So, i've been going through a crisis of sorts regarding whether or not to get out of the hobby all together.....  So after seriously thinking about it (and selling all of my terrain to boot lol)  I decided to sit down and paint up one of the models from the Shadespire Orruk warband.  Just to see if I would still feel interested.  Now this is a complete one off as I didn't intend to paint the rest of them. But now, i'm not so sure. Seeing as there are only 4 models in the warband, 30 hours to do them seems like an ok deal..... heck... may be more than 30 when/if I finish them all.  Anyway, on to the pictures.

Now, this guy isn't completely finished yet, and i've got around 6 or so hours into him at this point, but it's 4:00 Am now and I have to get my son up in the morning for school so I beleive its time for bed at this point. Let me know what you think guys. While i really do love how this is turning out, i'm not sure I still have the drive to stick with the hobby anymore.  Maybe take smallish commissions so I get to paint and not have to worry about playing. Anyway, thanks for checking it out!

Orlock "Sons of Anarchy" update

So, i've got the starting 8 gangers that make up my initial one thousand credits worth for our campaign painted to this level. These guys are jam packed with detail and the head swaps, in my opinion, are bad ass! I now want to figure out 12 more unique heads to get for the rest of the gang!

Not finished yet, but getting closer!

Riding through this world....... all alone.......

So my head swaps for my Orlock gang finally arived from Mad Robot minis!  Super pleased with the detail on these things! Was a bit miffed that they didnt ship for 9 days, but all said and done they got here in a total of 13 from order to delivery.... so, its a wash.  I can finally start painting my Orlocks A.K.A The Sons of Anarchy!  Blatantly ripping the show off here, as it was one of my absolute favorites!  Will get more pics up as i paint!

Heads belong to Jax Teller, Bobby Munson, Opie, Clay Morrow, Tig, and Chibs...... hope you guys like!
